Hello Mama! Regardless of where you are on your journey, know that I see you. Whether you just got that positive pregnancy test and are preparing for all the things, are staring down at your big, pregnant belly trying to remember the last time you saw your toes, or are in the midst of sleepless nights and in desperate need of a shower, I get it.

I’ve been there too.

In fact, I’ve been pregnant or breastfeeding for the past eight years!

I have learned a lot over those eight years but the biggest takeaways are:

You aren’t meant to do this alone.

Having a postpartum plan in place before you give birth is the key to enjoying those precious first few months.

After the birth of my second, I had just moved to a new area. I had no community. No support. Worst of all, no plan.

I felt completely depleted, like a shell of myself. I was exhausted and struggling in all aspects of life. I often felt angry and overwhelmed, ashamed that I couldn’t just do better and make all those negative emotions go away.

Yet, God helped me realize that it wasn’t about doing better. It was about caring for my whole self and asking for help when I needed it.

Eventually, I stopped pushing myself to do better. Instead, I chose to intentionally invest in all aspects of my health: mental, physical and spiritual. Over time, I was able to renew my mind, take care of my body, grow in my relationship with God and find my community.

Let’s fast forward to the birth of my third child. This time I had a strong community of people to support me, was in a healthier place in all aspects of my life, and most importantly, I took the time to prepare for postpartum life. Those small changes made a world of difference.  I was able to live a completely different postpartum experience.

My community, well-being, and preparation made all the difference.

That is what I want for you mama.
